New quarantine

IMG_3980

The new quarantine started this weekend: no one leaves home from Friday night through Monday morning for the next four weeks. The public hospitals are so full, they have waiting lists even for ICU! This view is from our back drive as we wait on the Lord during this pandemic.

In the meantime, we continue Saturdays with the bible class for children. Of our list of 23 kids, we had about 50% connect on Zoom. Next Saturday we're going to try to split into two groups: 5-7 year olds and 9-14 year olds. It's still not easy leading and teaching children over Internet, but the children want to connect and learn. We continue to pray for wisdom.

So what started out as a Sunday school class with two students, and then changed to a zoom meeting every Saturday with three to six kids, suddenly turned into a program with 23 children. The pastor of the Capulispungo migrant church in Quito hooked into Billy Graham's Christmas box evangelistic program. Since I was already working with a few kids weekly, he thought we could expand the program. Of course with the Pandemic, we have to use zoom. But Sunday we kicked off the program at the pastor's house with children and parents. Now we need to work on giving a three-month Sunday school program over zoom.

Presidential Elections

Yesterday we had a choice: a Socialist Dictator or a Democratic Conservative. We Praise God that Guillermo Lasso (the conservative) won the election!

The Cross

Lest we forget the work of Christ on the cross. All that He accomplished there. And then sealed it all with His resurrection. Happy Easter!
